Gospel and Homily October 7, 2013

John Chuchman sent me the link to this video.  Granted this homily happened prior to the statement from Cardinal Mueller about divorce/remarriage this week.  In spite of that it helps me to engage in new hope for reform in spite of the CDF.  This priest is speaking from the heart and what he has to say is worth the 5 minutes it takes to watch this little video.

  1. Arline Schoenberger says:

Amen!! So refreshing after this mornings downer. We too should be circling the wagons.

  2. What an encouraging talk…thank you. I would like to see this issue of divorce and remarriage addressed from the point of view of how people in this situation can be approached and reconciled and blessed and welcomed back to Eucharist, not chased away.

  3. Catharine Courtney says:

Thank you Now it is for us the people of god to make our voices heard quietly peaceably but confident that the Spirit of jesus is telling us that a failed marriage is something that can be grieved for but an event that each partner can learn from- part of the Paschal Mystery the joining in a kind of death but rising to a new life and so often the next effort at so close a relationship is successful despite the up s and downs of life and remember these laws were kept more easily when life was short !! The pope needs to be backed by millions of Catholics still in the Church crying out on behalf of those who have been refused remarriage refused Eucharist totlly excluded at times they most needed understanding
