The very next day after Archbishop Chaput of Philadelphia issued “new” guidelines for those in “irregular situations” (i.e. divorced and civilly remarried Catholics, those in a same sex relationship, and those in a co-habitation relationship) that are basically the same old same old, a very interesting interview with Crd Christoph Schonborn , the archbishop of Vienna and a Dominican theologian, regarding Amoris laetitia (AL) was released. TThe interview was conducted by Antonio Spadaro, S.J. The timing of the release of this interview was coincidental but quite ironic. You can access an excerpt of the interview HERE. The full interview is only currently available in Italian in the journal La Civilta Cattolica, the Jesuit journal published in Rome. The cardinal’s words regarding AL couldn’t be more different than what Ab Chaput has issued….reyanna
