The Colonial Williamsburg Approach To Catholicism

The guy who runs this website of all his own material has some interesting takes at times.  This is one of them.  The “Katholic Krazies”, as he calls the ultra Traditionalist element in the church who want to move the Church to the past, are a frequent topic.  If you look at the opening banner of his site, you would think he was one of them, but no.  He seems to have quite a background in history though.  He does have a good take on what the Traditionalist elements in the Church seem to be doing and why they are doing it.  It might help all the rest of us understand these folks in our parishes.  When you get to the website after you click the link below, you will need to scroll down past his rather wide banner section to get to the article. …Reyanna

I love small town America.  I have a little vacation time and I am sitting on the veranda of a country-style coffee shop in East Aurora New York having my breakfast and looking out into a different world of a lazy hazy summer far from the maddening crowd of my normal place of work.  This is so different than my everyday rush and bother and the confused world of a metropolitan area. There are “traditional” families having a 10:00 am weekday morning breakfast together with teenagers who look like they are actually happy to be with their parents.  I don’t see anyone texting or checking their emails.  In fact, I am getting a bit self-conscious about sitting here with my laptop even though I am alone at my table.  (To continue reading, click here.)
